قصه الدب والعسل

في كل صباح تخرج الحيوانات جميعاً للبحث عن طعام، وفي طريقها تمر على الدب الكبير المستلقي أسفل الشجرة نائماً كسولاً، فتلقى الحيوانات التحية على الدب في كل صباح،
وتحاول إقناعه بالخروج معهم للبحث عن الزرق، ولكن الدب في كل مرة يُشير إلى الشجرة المستلقي أسفلها قائلاً إنه ليس بحاجة أبداً للخروج والبحث عن طعام تحت أشعة الشمس الحارقة،
فهذه الشجرة تحتوي على كنز من العسل الطازج الشهي يكفيه لشهور وأيام طويلة تمضي الأيام والحيوانات تبحث عن رزقها، وتفكر في حال هذا الدب الكسول الذي لا يبرح من مكانة قط ولا يُفكر إلا في النوم والراحة،
وفي يوم من الأيام بينما كان الدب ينظر إلى الفتحة الصغيرة في الشجرة التي تمتلئ
بعسل النحل اللذيذ، فإذا به يتفاجأ بوجود ثعبان كبير يُطارد فأرأ ويُلقي بسمه على الفأر القريب من مكان العسل، وهو ما أدى إلى وصول السم إلى العسل وإفساده كله. وقف الدب على قدميه باكياً يضرب كفيه متحسراً،
فطعامه أصبح مسموماً ولا يستطيع تناوله، وفي المساء
عادت جميع الحيوانات وهي تحمل الكثير من الطعام والرزق لصغارها، فتفاجئوا بحال الدب الباكي وسألوه عن السبب،
ثم واسوه وأقنعوه بالخروج معهم في كل صباح سعياً للرزق، وبينوا له فوائد ذلك وكم سيُصبح نشيطاً ولديه طاقة كبيرة، وبالفعل اقتنع الدب برأيهم وأصبح يشاركهم كل صباح البحث عن الرزق، وأصبح الدب نشيطاً مجتهدأ يجني رزقه بيده

Every morning, all the animals go out to look for food. On their way, they pass by the big bear lying down under the tree, sleeping lazily. The animals greet the bear every morning and try to convince him to go out with them to look for food. But every time, the bear points to the tree he is lying down under, saying that he has no need to go out and look for food under the scorching sun, as this tree contains a treasure trove of delicious fresh honey that will suffice him for months and long days. Days pass and the animals search for their livelihood, thinking about the condition of this lazy bear who never leaves his place and only thinks about sleeping and resting. One day, while the bear was looking at the small hole in the tree that was filled with delicious bee honey, he was surprised by the presence of a large snake chasing a mouse and throwing its venom at the mouse near the place of the honey, which led to the venom reaching the honey and spoiling it all. The bear stood on his feet crying, slapping his hands in regret, as his food had become poisoned and he could not eat it. In the evening, all the animals returned carrying a lot of food and provisions for their young. They were surprised by the crying bear’s condition and asked him about the reason. Then they comforted him and convinced him to go out with them every morning in search of a livelihood. They explained to him the benefits of that and how active and energetic he would become. Indeed, the bear was convinced by their opinion and began to participate with them every morning in searching for a livelihood. The bear became active and hard-working, earning his livelihood with his own hand.
